AI Engine: Unauthorized post modification and type changes
The AI Engine WordPress plugin before 3.7.9 does not verify that the user performing certain AI media management actions owns or is otherwise allowed to edit the targeted object, allowing users with the Editor role or above to modify, or change the type of, arbitrary posts on the site, including content they are not permitted to edit. The export supplies no additional endpoint, action, parameter or function details beyond those described above.

- CWE-862 — Missing Authorization
This CVE was published Oct 18, 2026 and is one of 44 known issues for this plugin.
Update, patch or deactivate.
Update AI Engine to 3.7.9 or a later supported release. The completed authoritative export identifies this fixed boundary. Check ownership or edit permission for the target object before allowing AI media actions to change its content or post type.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
