Depicter — Popup & Slider Builder: Dangerous editor media uploads
The Depicter — Popup & Slider Builder WordPress plugin before 4.8.2 does not properly validate uploaded files in its editor media-upload endpoint, checking only the client-supplied MIME type and a case-sensitive block of the .php extension, which allows users with the Editor role and above to upload files with other active extensions into the public uploads directory, leading to stored script execution in the site origin and, depending on the server's handler mapping, to code execution. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: 4.0.5 to before 4.8.2.

Update, patch or deactivate.
The authoritative export identifies 4.8.2 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Constrain file operations to authorized, server-selected targets, verify resolved-path containment and keep untrusted uploads non-executable.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
