Download Monitor: Multisite filesystem-location authorization bypass
The Download Monitor WordPress plugin before 5.3.5 does not correctly restrict management of the list of filesystem locations it may serve files from to network administrators on multisite, allowing a subsite administrator who is not trusted at the network level to approve arbitrary locations and have the Download Monitor WordPress plugin before 5.3.5 serve readable files from outside the uploads directory, including files belonging to other subsites, to unauthenticated visitors; single-site installations are unaffected. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: before 5.3.5.

Update, patch or deactivate.
The authoritative export identifies 5.3.5 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Constrain file operations to authorized, server-selected targets, verify resolved-path containment and keep untrusted uploads non-executable.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
