UNKNOWN CVE-2026-115251 Received

Duplicator: Multisite upgrade routine permits network-wide PHP execution

Duplicator does not restrict its one-click upgrade routine to users authorized to install plugins. The routine is also exposed without authentication, but the disclosed attacker scenario is a multisite child-site administrator who is not a network administrator: that user can install and run arbitrary PHP in the network-wide shared Duplicator directory. This record does not establish that an unauthenticated outsider can complete the same code-execution chain. The route, upload parameter and any additional prerequisites are not disclosed in the export. Published affected versions: 1.5.17 to < 5.0.0.

CVE / CNA score Pending The CVE record has not published a CNA CVSS assessment.

This CVE was published Oct 25, 2026 and is one of 13 known issues for this plugin.

Update, patch or deactivate.

Update Duplicator to 5.0.0 or later. Restrict upgrades to callers with the required plugin-installation authority in the correct multisite/network context, and reject unauthenticated access to the upgrade handler. Review the shared plugin directory and network accounts for unauthorized changes.

A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
