Essential Addons for Elementor: Author injection of iframe and form elements

The Essential Addons for Elementor WordPress plugin before 6.8.7 does not validate the HTML tag setting of some of its widgets before using it to build markup, which could allow users with the author role and above to inject iframe and form elements into published pages. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: before 6.8.7. The narrative names the role described above, while the CVSS vector records high privileges (PR:H); that vector does not establish an Administrator-only requirement.

Update, patch or deactivate.

The authoritative export identifies 6.8.7 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Allowlist supported widget HTML tags server-side; reject iframe and form elements where the author is not permitted to embed them.

A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
