Eventin public order creation accepts attacker-selected paid status
Eventin before 4.1.16 fails to authorize its public order-creation operation and accepts an attacker-controlled order status. An unauthenticated attacker can create an Eventin order already marked as paid without completing a payment, bypassing the event's payment workflow and potentially obtaining paid-order benefits or tickets. Update, patch or deactivate.
Update Eventin to 4.1.16 or later. Review orders created while an earlier version was active for paid status without a matching verified gateway transaction, invalidate unauthorized tickets or benefits, and reconcile affected orders before fulfillment.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
