Exclusive Addons Info Box images let Contributors store JavaScript
Exclusive Addons for Elementor through 2.7.9.8 lets a Contributor-or-higher user store attacker-controlled image data in the exad_infobox_image setting. The Info Box element's Elementor content template obtains the image URL with elementor.imagesManager.getImageUrl() and inserts it into an img src attribute with an unescaped triple-brace template expression, allowing crafted input to break out of the attribute and execute JavaScript when the injected page is rendered. Version 2.7.9.9 applies _.escape() to the returned image URL before output.

Update, patch or deactivate.
Update Exclusive Addons for Elementor to 2.7.9.9 or later. Review Info Box image settings saved by Contributors or other delegated content authors, remove unexpected URLs or markup and invalidate privileged sessions if affected pages were viewed.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
Technical description
The Exclusive Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the ‘ exad_infobox_image’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.7.9.8 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
