Frontend Post Submission Manager Lite – Guest Post and Frontend Submission Forms: Cross-site scripting
The Frontend Post Submission Manager Lite – Frontend Posting WordPress Plugin plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via post_content Parameter (data-label DOM Sink) in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.4 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This requires the site operator to have enabled guest post submission via the [fpsm] shortcode, which registers a publicly accessible AJAX handler gated only by a nonce emitted on every page containing the shortcode. The official changelog confirms a matching fix in 1.3.5.

Update, patch or deactivate.
Update Frontend Post Submission Manager Lite – Guest Post and Frontend Submission Forms to 1.3.5 or a later supported release. Reject uploader control markers in submitted content and insert labels as text, not executable HTML, in the browser. Review existing guest submissions for persisted payloads.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
