GeoDirectory – WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory: Cross-site scripting
A Subscriber can store a crafted GeoDirectory post_title. Insufficient sanitization and output escaping let that title execute script when affected content is viewed in the site's origin. The export does not identify the precise write endpoint or rendering function. Published affected versions: <= 2.8.190.

This CVE was published Oct 14, 2026 and is one of 42 known issues for this plugin.
Update, patch or deactivate.
Official author release notes reviewed on 2026-10-14 list version 2.8.192, but this archive could not confirm a fixed version for this CVE. Dynamic Content escaping does not establish remediation of the disclosed post_title sink. This is an evidence limitation, not a claim that the current release remains vulnerable. Official release notes: https://wordpress.org/plugins/geodirectory/#developers. Restrict the affected functionality or deactivate the component where warranted until remediation is established.
No confirmed safe version is listed. Consider a vendor-supported patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality while you assess the risk.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
Technical description
The GeoDirectory – WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'post_title' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.8.190 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
