MEDIUM CVE-2026-113491 Received

GeoDirectory: Media-extension file disclosure and deletion

The GeoDirectory WordPress plugin before 2.8.194 does not validate a user-supplied image URL before using it as a local file path when saving a front-end listing, allowing users with Subscriber-level access and above to read files from outside the web root and to delete files on the server, limited to file names that carry an allowed media extension. A disclosed file is re-published at a public URL and its original is deleted as a side effect. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: before 2.8.194.

Update, patch or deactivate.

The authoritative export identifies 2.8.194 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Constrain file operations to authorized, server-selected targets, verify resolved-path containment and keep untrusted uploads non-executable.

A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
