HIGH CVE-2026-96661 Deferred

Gmedia Photo Gallery: SQL injection

Gmedia Photo Gallery's mobile-app library action passes unauthenticated gmedia__in input into a vulnerable database query, permitting time-based SQL injection and data extraction. The handler does not enforce its feature flag or nonce. Disabling the Mobile App option alone does not remove the disclosed exposure. Published affected versions: <= 1.25.1.

CWE-89 — Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection')

This CVE was published Oct 14, 2026 and is one of 4 known issues for this plugin.

Update, patch or deactivate.

This archive could not verify a fixed version on 2026-10-14 because usable official author release notes were unavailable. This does not establish that the issue remains unfixed. Seek author-confirmed remediation; deactivate the affected functionality or component where warranted until it is established. Disabling the Mobile App setting alone does not protect the disclosed handler; deactivate the component if the vulnerable route cannot be reliably restricted.

No confirmed safe version is listed. Consider a vendor-supported patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality while you assess the risk.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.

Technical description

The Gmedia Photo Gallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the 'gmedia__in' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.25.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. The unauthenticated mobile app endpoint dispatches the library action without validating the Mobile App feature flag, a nonce, or any WordPress authentication, meaning no account or session of any kind is required to exploit this vulnerability.
