RealHomes lets Subscribers forge paid premium memberships

RealHomes Memberships through 3.0.9 does not adequately authorize its PayPal membership completion path. A Subscriber can grant themselves any premium tier without payment, producing a false active receipt and gaining restricted property-listing allowances; the record does not disclose the request fields or verification function.

Update to a corrected release after 3.0.9. Reconcile active memberships and receipts with settled PayPal transactions, revoke forged tiers, and review Subscriber activity for unauthorized listing access.

Technical description

The RealHomes Memberships plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.0.9. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to grant themselves any premium membership tier without completing a PayPal transaction, generating a falsified active payment receipt and gaining unauthorized access to restricted property listing allowances.
