Link Whisper Free: Untrusted deserialization and object injection
Link Whisper Free deserializes untrusted data, permitting object injection. The CNA vector specifies an unauthenticated attacker without victim interaction. Attacker-controlled serialized content can influence reconstructed objects; the export does not identify the endpoint, input field, deserialization function, object classes or an exploitable gadget chain. Although the vector rates confidentiality, integrity and availability impact as high, the disclosed information does not establish unconditional remote code execution. Published affected versions: <= 0.9.7.

Update Link Whisper Free to 0.9.8 or later in the applicable release line. The completed authoritative record identifies this fixed release. Restrict the affected functionality until updated. Do not deserialize untrusted objects; use a data-only format with strict schema validation and review unexpected application changes.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
