HIGH CVE-2026-113499 Deferred

LiteSpeed Cache: Comment-based script injection through HTML rewriting

The LiteSpeed Cache WordPress plugin before 7.9.2 does not restrict one of its HTML rewriting routines to stylesheet content, so it removes a quote that terminates an attribute in the rendered page, and combined with unescaped comment author output this allows unauthenticated users whose comment is published to inject attributes that execute JavaScript in the browser of any visitor, including a logged-in administrator, who views front-end pages while the affected option is enabled. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: before 7.9.2.

CWE-79 — Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

This CVE was published Oct 23, 2026 and is one of 27 known issues for this plugin.

Update, patch or deactivate.

The authoritative export identifies 7.9.2 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Validate untrusted input and apply context-appropriate output escaping at the affected rendering point; enforce permissions independently of nonces.

A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
