MEDIUM CVE-2026-15946 Deferred

Search Atlas whitelabel passwords can be replaced by Subscribers

A Subscriber can overwrite the whitelabel-settings password with an attacker-selected value due to missing authorization. The new value unlocks whitelabel-protected administrative tabs, including general and advanced configuration. The export does not disclose the endpoint or establish that this is the WordPress account password. Authoritative affected range: <= 2.6.23. No fixed release is confirmed in this review.

Weakness
CWE-862 — Missing Authorization

This CVE was published Sep 19, 2026 and is one of 6 known issues for this plugin.

Update, patch or deactivate.

No confirmed fixed release. The newer whitelabel-recovery hardening notes do not clearly identify the arbitrary password-overwrite flaw. Official changelog: https://wordpress.org/plugins/metasync/#developers . Require administrative capability to change the whitelabel password and enforce WordPress capabilities on the protected actions themselves. Restore the legitimate password and audit configuration changes after updating.

No confirmed safe version is listed. Consider a vendor-supported patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality while you assess the risk.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.

Technical description

The Search Atlas SEO – Premier SEO Plugin for One-Click WP Publishing & Integrated AI Optimization plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 2.6.23. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to overwrite the whitelabel settings password to an attacker-controlled value, enabling them to unlock whitelabel-protected admin settings tabs including whitelabel, general, and advanced configuration.
