MEDIUM CVE-2026-104726 Deferred

Name Directory: Cross-site scripting

The Name Directory plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'dir' Shortcode Attribute in all versions up to, and including, 1.34.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The export supplies no additional endpoint, action, parameter or function details beyond those described above.

Update, patch or deactivate.

This archive could not confirm a fixed version from the official author notes reviewed through 1.34.3. Shortcode-security wording does not clearly establish the dir-attribute XSS correction; other submission fixes concern different behavior. Consult the author for current remediation guidance; restrict or disable affected functionality when warranted. Official notes: https://wordpress.org/plugins/name-directory/#developers.

No confirmed safe version is listed. Consider a vendor-supported patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality while you assess the risk.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
