MEDIUM CVE-2026-109933 Deferred

Otter Blocks: Stored script injection through block styling

The Otter Blocks WordPress plugin before 3.2.8 does not properly sanitize and escape user-supplied block styling values before writing them into an inline stylesheet, allowing users with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when any visitor, including administrators, views the affected post. Other endpoint, parameter, role or implementation details not named in this export are not established by this record. Affected versions: before 3.2.8. The narrative names the role described above, while the CVSS vector records high privileges (PR:H); that vector does not establish an Administrator-only requirement.

CWE-79 — Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting')

Update, patch or deactivate.

The authoritative export identifies 3.2.8 as fixed. Update to the applicable fixed release or a later supported release. Validate block styling values and escape their inline-stylesheet output context so stored values cannot break out into executable markup.

A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.

Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
