Datawiza Proxy Auth: Untrusted identity headers permit administrator login
Datawiza Proxy Auth trusts user-identity and role HTTP headers without verifying that a trusted reverse proxy supplied them. An unauthenticated attacker whose headers reach that trust path can create and authenticate as a WordPress administrator. The exact header names, authentication route and proxy configuration are not disclosed in the export. Published affected versions: 1.1.0 to < 1.1.1.

Update, patch or deactivate.
Update Datawiza Proxy Auth Plugin to 1.1.1 or later. Accept identity and role assertions only from an authenticated trusted proxy path, strip externally supplied identity headers, and prevent direct requests from bypassing that trust boundary. Review unexpected administrator accounts and sessions.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
Technical description
The Datawiza Proxy Auth Plugin WordPress plugin before 1.1.1 does not verify that the user-identity and role HTTP request headers it trusts originate from a trusted reverse proxy, allowing unauthenticated attackers to create and authenticate as a WordPress administrator.
