WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging: Staging-directory traversal
The WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging WordPress plugin before 0.9.137 does not sanitize the staging destination folder supplied to its staging-start handler, applying only a generic text filter while the sibling writability-check handler applies the correct filename sanitizer, so an authenticated administrator can supply a path containing traversal sequences and make the WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging WordPress plugin before 0.9.137 write the copied site files outside the WordPress installation directory. The structured affected range is < 0.9.137.

Update, patch or deactivate.
Update to a supported release containing the confirmed fix: 0.9.137. Authorize file operations and constrain canonicalized paths to the intended storage directory.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
