WPVR: Contributors can modify and publish other users’ tours
WPVR lacks object-level ownership checks when updating virtual tours. A Contributor or higher can direct an update at another user’s tour and modify, reconfigure and publish it without the required authority over that object. The update route, tour-ID parameter and exact editable fields are not disclosed in the export. Published affected versions: 8.3.0 to < 9.0.3.

This CVE was published Oct 25, 2026 and is one of 13 known issues for this plugin.
Update, patch or deactivate.
Update WPVR to 9.1.3 or later to also address the setup-wizard issue CVE-2026-114740. Version 9.0.3 is the first confirmed fix for this CVE. Authorize the caller against the specific tour and requested operation before changing or publishing it. Review unexpected tour edits and publications, including those attributed to low-privilege users.
A safe version is available, so updating to that version or later is the preferred remediation. If an immediate update is not practical, consider a targeted application patch or temporarily restricting the affected functionality.
Deactivate only when warranted by your risk profile, or when advised by your hosting provider in the limited circumstances where the vulnerability cannot otherwise be mitigated. If you’re unsure which action is appropriate, contact Fused or your hosting provider for guidance.
Technical description
The WPVR WordPress plugin before 9.0.3 does not perform object-level ownership checks when updating virtual tours, allowing users with contributor-level access and above to modify, reconfigure and publish tours created by other users.
