2FA for Webmail¶
Use this page to add two-factor authentication to webmail. This helps protect mailbox access even if a password is guessed or reused elsewhere.
Activating 2FA¶
- In order to activate 2FA, login to webmail.
- After logging in, if you see your inbox in front of you, select the 'Webmail Home' option on the left menu.
- Otherwise, select 'Two-Factor Authentication' Then select 'Set Up Two-Factor Authentication'
- Scan the following QR code with a two-factor authentication app on your phone. We suggest google authenticator or 1password.
- Enter the code from your two-factor authencator app into the field for step 2.
- Success!
Deactivating 2FA or changing devices¶
With your 2FA device.¶
You can deactivate or change devices 2FA by logging in, navigating to Two-factor authentication & removing it — you'll need to use your 2FA code to get in.
- In order to deactivate 2FA, login to webmail.
- After logging in, if you see your inbox in front of you, select the 'Webmail Home' option on the left menu.
- Otherwise, select 'Two-Factor Authentication' Then select 'Remove Two-Factor Authentication' or 'Reconfigure device' to switch devices.
