Unlocking your domain at Bluehost

Use this guide to unlock a domain registered at Bluehost. Lock the domain again after transfer work is complete or no longer needed.

To unlock your domain at Bluehost, follow these instructions:

  1. Log into your bluehost control panel.
  2. Click the Domain Manager tab.
  3. Click the Domain name to highlight it. The right side will populate with tabs.
  4. Unlock the domain on the LOCK tab.
  5. Turn off privacy on the PRIVACY tab.
  6. You will receive an email with an Auth code and a link. Follow the instructions in the email.
  7. All set, now you'll need to request your EPP if you haven't, & transfer.

Unlocking your domain name allows it to transfer from registrar to registrar, please only do so when ready.
